NATIONAL GOVERNMENT ADVICE

4 July 2007

The Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre (JTAC) has lowered the UK's threat level from international terrorism from Critical to Severe. This means that the future terrorist attacks are still highly likely, but no longer thought to be imminent.

This decision has been made by JTAC based on a review of the latest intelligence. For more information on the current situation, please see http://www.mi5.gov.uk/output/Page438.html.

TIMEONLINE July 14th 2007

Last week wasn’t a great one for lost baggage with a backlog of 20,000 cases waiting to be reunited with their owners at Heathrow alone. A new system from Baggage Pin (www.baggagepin.com) claims to give airlines information they’ve previously lacked to get bags back to owners more quickly. A year’s subscription costs £12.

Baggage PIN© is moving to a new web server which will give our members, airlines and airports greater access.

The move will be completed on June 9th 2007.
